The Deputy Attorney General (DEPAG) serves as the Deputy Head of the United States Department of Justice. The Deputy Attorney General is tasked with assisting in the management of the Department of Justice. The most important role of the Deputy Attorney General is to serve the duties of the Attorney General if the office is vacant. The role was introduced to the game in v5.0.

To be selected for the office of Deputy Attorney General, an individual must first serve in the Department of Justice. This is the only way to take the position of Deputy Attorney General. The role may be selectable from the roles menu if the office is vacant. However, if the position is not available, an individual must serve in another Secretary role in the Department and be elevated to the Deputy Attorney General role once it becomes vacant. This promotion is automatic, and the Attorney General has no power in selecting the Deputy Attorney General.
The individual holding the office of Deputy Attorney General is at the discretion of the Attorney General, and therefore, an individual may be removed from office at any time.

Within the Department, the Deputy Attorney General has no direct power but is tasked with advising the Attorney General on how they use their authority, especially in regards to personnel. The Deputy Attorney General is also a senior figure who provides guidance to the staff below them, assisting in making important decisions.

As the Deputy Attorney General, you will be presented with an issue each morning. During your spare time or office hours, you should read over the issue and decide which option to choose. Note that your choice will affect your statistics, so it is important to read and consider all options carefully.
