Introduction edit source

The Chesapeake Studios Wiki is an informational hub on the Chesapeake Studios group and its related content, including its various games. It primarily focuses on political simulator and roleplay games, such as Oath of Office.

Wiki Basics and Information edit source

All articles must be in English (US or UK).

Formal English should be used in an encyclopedic manner. Proper grammar, spelling, and punctuation should be used.

This wiki should be treated as its own platform and follow the standards of Wikipedia or other large fandom groups.

All information on the wiki should relate to the game. Irrelevant information will be deleted.

For the security of both the Wiki and its users, only accounts with a registered Fandom account will be allowed to edit or create pages. This is to prevent the IPs of users from being leaked.

A lot of the management side of the wiki is done on the Chesapeake Studios Discord and its subsidiaries. It is suggested that you send all reports or requests there. If you are unable to, you may reach out to an Administrator through their message walls.

Administrators reserve the right to block users from editing or accessing the wiki if they violate any of our rules. However, whether the action was done in good faith or not will be assessed, and punishment will not be given to users who acted in good faith.

All information on this wiki should be factual and relate to the Chesapeake Studios group.

The layout procedures and methods for structuring a wiki page are listed on our Writing Guide.

Community Policy edit source

It is important that all interactions on this wiki between users remain friendly, and it is a requirement to follow certain moderation rules on message walls, comment sections, forums, blogs, or on the wiki pages themselves. We have laid certain rules to ensure this standard.

Be respectful to others and use respectful language when talking to them.

    • Do not discriminate or insult other users based on race, religion, etc.
    • No personal attacks on other users.

Avoid using profanity, especially on the mainspace, so that content is safe to read for all ages.

Do not share others' or your own personal information on any page of this wiki.

Do not self-promote or advertise foreign links on the wiki.

Do not spam comment sections. If you have multiple thoughts, keep them in one single comment.

Wiki Interaction Policy edit source

This policy refers to users' interaction with the wiki and its services.

Vandalism edit source

Vandalism refers to the intentional destruction of a page's contents by removing, replacing, or adding unrelated or offensive content, and any other action that clearly ruins the page or wiki.

Edit Warring edit source

Certain situations may arise where one user disagrees with the way another user has formatted the page, and vice versa, leading to both sides continuously reversing the other's actions. This is known as an edit war and is prohibited under our policy.

Instead of continuously reversing each other's actions, it is required you reach out to the other user to reach a compromise or achieve reasoning for their actions and talk it out to receive an agreed conclusion. If no compromise is reached, contact an administrator to deal with the issue.

Plagiarism edit source

Plagiarism refers to the copying of information without permission from other sites. This is prohibited.

All content on this wiki is considered to be released under the CC-BY-SA license.

Plagiarism also refers to the usage of generative AI (such as ChatGPT or Gemini) to create content on pages or the whole page itself. This is prohibited as AI fails to meet not only our wiki writing standards but is also inaccurate when dealing with niche topics.

Impersonation & Sockpuppeteering edit source

Impersonation refers to a user acting in bad faith by pretending to be an administrator or staff to mislead users. This is prohibited.

Sockpuppeteering refers to the usage of two or more accounts by a single user. This in itself is not prohibited, as a user may use a number of accounts if they have a valid reason. However, using multiple accounts with the intent of harming the wiki, such as in raids or vandalism, will result in punishment of the perpetrator and their associated accounts.

Content Relevancy Guidelines edit source

It is important that all content on this wiki must relate to the Chesapeake Studios group. However, some content, although relating to the main game, simply does not belong on the wiki.

What Deserves a Page edit source

Information related to Chesapeake Studios games:

  • A major role in the game that is playable across the entire game.
  • Removed major content that played a role in the game.
  • Content in the game that spans across all servers (departments).
  • Major updates that contributed significantly to the game.
  • Locations in the game.
  • Major content in the game that plays a role in gameplay and is available to all servers.

Information related to the Chesapeake Studios group and community:

  • Important people who have contributed significantly to the game.
    • If a person does not want their page on this wiki, even if they meet this criterion, it must be respected, and a page on them will not be created.
  • Influential or important events that occurred in the group's history.
  • Content that is popular amongst the community (e.g., very famous and well-known memes or running gags).

What Does Not Deserve a Page edit source

  • Characters played by people in-game. These characters are irrelevant outside of that server and are not notable once the player leaves.
  • People who are not notable to Executive Order's history or development.
  • Pages on secretaries and low-level staff roles, unless properly linked to and from the main page.
    • Keep information about these roles concise within their respective department pages.

Note: What does or does not belong on the wiki is subjective. If you're unsure about a page's notability, consult an Administrator.
