Players create characters unique to each server and roleplay the United States government as various positions such as the President or their cabinet. Players can pass laws depending on what issues occur in the game, which affects their reputation among different interest groups. There are a lot of unique roles such as the Press, which can interview other players.

Information edit edit source

Oath of Office allows players to create a character with various customization opportunities, such as their appearance, names, and backstories. Players can then choose a role to roleplay as, being presented with multiple branches, such as the Executive Branch, Legislative Branch, or the Press. Depending on their role, Players have a daily schedule where they are teleported to different locations, with each day having its own unique events.[1] Each player has their own polls and Primary Ranking, which allows the servers oldest players to run for president. Each decision the player takes in the Agenda tab influences the player's polls with certain interest groups.

History edit edit source

Pre-creation and High Rollers edit edit source

The developer of Executive Orders, ChangesInLatitudes, used to develop and own a roblox casino game titled High Rollers. This game saw ample success and had a moderate sized following. However, some time in 2024, the game was shut down by Roblox as it violated their Terms of Service.

Launch and growth edit edit source

After the shutdown, Latitudes began to develop a new project titled "Executive Orders" in late July. Latitudes advertised the new game in the High Rollers discord, which saw a huge influx of players. In early August, the game launched and saw very early success, averaging several hundred players in just its first week of being live. Despite the game lacking content, it saw success from the political games community in Roblox, due to tapping into an unclaimed niche. Later on, updates would release weekly updates to the game, adding new content. Updates such as v2.0 "In The Line of Fire", boosted the game's popularity even further.

Shutdown edit edit source

On August 30 2024, Executive Orders was content deleted by ROBLOX. The official purpose for the ban, as stated by ROBLOX, is "trump assassination rally", which was completely false as the game didn't even contain content alluding to such an event, not even rallies, nor even political parties (at the time) for it to be nominally true. Despite many attempts to appeal the decision, it was ultimately reuploaded and (via a poll) rebranded as "Oath of Office", with the Secret Service content, such as the gun, being removed.

Oath of Office edit edit source

Since then, Chesapeake Studios grew abundantly, adding tons of mechanics and roles to the game. On October 22, 2024, Chesapeake Studios created unique merch for the game.
