The Department of State (DoS) is one of the executive departments responsible for the foreign relations and policies of the United States, and is overseen by the Secretary of State. The headquarters is found in the United State Department of State Building.

Function edit

The Department of State is generally responsible for the relationship between the United States and other countries. Most decisions relative to sanctions and alliance is made in the offices of the Department of State. The Department of State has so much responsibility in the country, therefore placing the Secretary of State as the fifth person in the line of succession.

Secretary of State edit

The Secretary of State is the highest ranking executive in the Department of State. The SECSTATE is responsible for overseeing the United States Department of State and communicating any changes or acts within the department to the President of the United States. Majority of their duties consist of reviewing any adjustments to foreign relations, including sanctions.

Deputy Secretary of State edit

The Deputy Secretary of State is the second highest ranking executive in the Department of State. The DEPSECSTATE is responsible for helping the Secretary in department oversight, and transmitting information from the Under Secretaries to the Secretary. The DEPSECSTATE responds to the Secretary of State.

Under Secretary of Economic Growth, Energy, and the Environment edit

The Under Secretary of Economic Growth, Energy, and the Environment is responsible for overseeing any foreign influences on the growth of the American economy, or the impacts on energy and environment accessible to the United States. It reports to the DEPSECSTATE.

Under Secretary of Arms Control and International Security Affairs edit

The Under Secretary of Arms Control and International Security Affairs is responsible for ensuring that all foreign and domestic individuals are adhering to the rules of partnership with the United States, along with any violations of any global policies. It reports to the DEPSECSTATE.

Under Secretary of Civilian Security, Democracy, and Human Rights edit

The Under Secretary of Civilian Security, Democracy, and Human Rights is responsible for ensuring that American citizens are safe within and outside of American borders. They report any foreign violation of American persons to the DEPSEC, who is responsible for having that information appropriately transmitted to the President of the United States. It reports to the DEPSECSTATE.
