How to Edit on Fandom edit

Editing on Fandom is simple! Just click the "Edit" button on any page to open the editor. From there, you can make changes, add new information or media, correct errors, or adjust formatting.

Using the VisualEditor edit

Most anonymous or new users will use the VisualEditor, which gives you a live preview of your edits as they will appear on the page.

Quick Editing Tips edit

The Edit Button edit

Once you're in the editor, you can easily add, remove, or modify content, including images and videos, and adjust the layout. After making changes, click "Save changes" for the source editor or "Save" for the VisualEditor to publish your edits.

Don't worry about breaking anything — all edits are saved in the page's history, and it's easy to revert to an earlier version if needed. Tip: On a desktop computer, you can press the "E" key to start editing without clicking the Edit button.

Note: Editing is not currently supported through the Fandom app.

Choosing an Editor edit

Editor Description
Source editor The default text-based editor available on all communities. It’s also used for editing JavaScript or CSS pages. Known as the 2010 wikitext editor.
VisualEditor A more visual interface for editing pages. When it’s the default, you can still switch to the 2017 source editor via the Edit button dropdown.
2017 Source Editor A more advanced version of the wikitext editor that you can access even when VisualEditor is enabled.

Switching Editors edit

Once you're on the editing page, you can switch between editors using the drop-down menu. You can also set your preferred editor by going to Special:Preferences → Editing → Preferred editor. If the VisualEditor is your default, switching to the source editor will take you to the 2017 wikitext mode.

Edit Summary edit

Before saving, you can add a brief description of your changes in the "Summary" box. This helps track the edits and lets others know what you've changed. It could be as simple as "fixed typo" or "added new information."
