It is the most powerful role in the game, with the ability to pass or dismiss legislation, motivate the direction of their Secretaries policies and chairs the Cabinet meetings. This role was added in the ''Initial Release'' (v1.0). == Information == The President is currently the solely elected role within Oath of Office: Brazil. The two characters who have the highest polls at the time are chosen to run against each other (if the President has served the max of 2 terms). In order for a character to win the election, the character must have majority of the interest groups to vote for them which is secured by maximising the opinion of that interest group through passing laws that benefit said group. The group will sway the vote to support the candidate that has the higher rating for said group. An electoral debate is hosted on day 4 with the candidate with the most votes being elected their after and becoming the new President. (H24-https://discord.gg/ZafksvF5) The term length in-game is 4 days, each day lasting 8 minutes (so 32 minutes each term). A president can server a maximum of two terms if they are re-elected, but is capped at those two terms. If a President fails to get re-elected, they will be reset and given the title and role "Former President" on their character and in the leaderboard. === Daily Schedule === Each day, the president has an assigned schedule that they must follow. Which is split up into 5 sessions which can change per day: ==== Executive Meeting ==== A meeting between the President of Brazil and their personal staff members. ==== Cabinet Meeting ==== The meeting of all cabinet members to discuss issues between all governing leadership members. ==== Social Hour ==== A time where the President can freely interact with the other members of the political system. This may be resolving disputes, attending events such as the Inaugural Ball or speaking privately with other members of the executive or judicial branch. === Powers and Duties === Like other high ranking roles, the Presidential Day is split into 4 sections, the Executive Meeting, the Cabinet Meeting, two periods of social hour and two blank periods. Each day the President is given an issue to discuss with other members of the cabinet which is generally held for discussion at the cabinet meeting, however, Presidents may wish to further discuss issues with their Department Heads in private. The President may also teleport to all departmental or government buildings in-game to help oversee the operations. The President has the ability to lead events that are hosted every day (such as the Gala and Inauguration) and can make speches. On day 4, the social hour becomes a Presidential debate where each candidate can be asked questions by a reporter in-game argue for their motion to become the President and for the other candidate to be denied the election. The President also has an ability to dismiss members of the cabinet one per term. This is solely the choice of the President and is not a mandated action. If someone is fired by the person, the next person in the chain of command would take that position of "Secretary". == Update History == * '''Initial Release''' (v1.0) ** Added to the game *** President can serve one term before their fate is decided by the polls *** Automated polling decided who the next President is at the end of day 4 in a term *** Reputation, polls and statistic were the main factor to a President's approval rating and if they kept office or not. == Trivia == [[Category:Roles]] [[Category:Oath of Office: Brazil]]
